Sweet Heat # 5 Round Up ~ Game Food!

Well another month has flown by and another Sweet Heat successfully completed! I think this month's theme of Game Food was a little more challenging for you all, however you still outdid yourselves and we got some fantastic entries!

I really do love and appreciate the time and effort you all make to take part in Sweet Heat – especially when the theme is a little more challenging but once again I did receive a couple of entries this month that didn't have any chillies in them. While I hate to be repetitive and definitely don't want to discourage any of you from taking part please remember that this challenge was started to encourage to cooking, eating and celebrating the deliciousness of chillies (in any shape or form)!

So with the team talk over let's not waste anymore time and send this into an undeserved overtime ! ; )

To get the ball rolling Akheela of Torview Toronto fame showed us that Game Food can still be healthy with a delicious Cucumber Salad. I love the combination of the cooling, refreshing cucumber with the hit of fresh, spicy chilli.......

Next was the lovely Vanessa from Checky's Kitchen with the most delicious looking Cheat's Chicken Shawarma, seasoned with spices and finished with a healthy dousing of chilli sauce! Perfect game food for munching on......

In our house you can't watch any big game without some finger-licking super spicy Chicken Wings and my Twice as Spicy Chicken Wings are the perfect treat.....

Straight out of An Irish Village Pantry, Sheelagh made a few batches of her fabulously sticky and sweet Tomato and Chilli Jam Salsa, perfect for topping so many little snacks and appies to serve for the big match........

Janet from Taste Space really scored a hat trick with her amazing looking Moroccan Vegetable Phyllo Rolls with Balsamic Maple Sauce. I'm sure they disappear in a hurry!........

And talking of disappearing in a hurry whenever I make my Jalapeno Popper Dip it doesn't last long. This super spicy dip has all of the flavours of a Jalapeno Popper but is much easier to make – especially for a crowd.......

Claiming not to be someone that watches any sports or games on television, the lovely Janice of Farmersgirl Kitchen certainly knows how to make the perfect food for munching while watching the game with her wonderful looking Chilli, Cheese and Bacon Muffins! Seriously chilli, cheese and bacon in one delicious bite? It doesn't get better than that!........

Raising the bar with my favourite Game Food was Emma from Souperior with her Ultimate Hot Buffalo Wings with Blue Cheese Dip – Yum! Pass the napkins please – these really do look like 'ultimate' chicken wings!........

Another absolute favourite snack food of mine, was brought to this Match of the Day feast courtesy of Corina from Searching for Spice with her fantastic Potato and Pea Samosas which look absolutely delicious and perfect finger food....

Moving on to desserts and although the chilli was a little absent from this recipe it looks so delicious and perfect for ending our feast with! Thank you to Sugar and Spice for this refreshing yet luxurious Pineapple Ice Cream Cake and also for her Nan Khatai, a wonderful looking light and crisp butter cookie.....

Thank you all again for taking part – it's so much fun and as always I love seeing what you come up with! Don't miss next month's challenge which will be held by the lovely Janice over at Farmersgirl Kitchen. She will be announcing the new theme and challenge on March 1st . I can't wait! Happy Cooking everyone : )
